Name: Yuyuko Saigyouji
Fandom: Touhou Project
Gender: Female
Age: More than a thousand years old.
Time Period: Post UFO
Wing Color: White.
History: Background of Yuyuko: http://en.touhouwiki.net/wiki/Yuyuko_Saigyouji#Perfect_Cherry_Blossom_-_.E3.82.AD.E3.83.A3.E3.83.A9.E8.A8.AD.E5.AE.9A.txt
General information: http://en.touhouwiki.net/wiki/Yuyuko_Saigyouji
Personality: Because of her character, Yuyuko Saiygouji is a ghost whose often described as airheaded and/or ditzy. Seemingly oblivious to the point of where the obvious could be right in front of her face and she wouldn't acknowledge it, Yuyuko has a cheerful and carefree personality that when mixed with how she always chooses to speak to others (which is confusingly), gives her an air of mystery that one doesn't know if to take serious or how to take seriously. Hardly ever explaining, she is as whimsy as she is dead.
And she is very playful, too. Very. It's hard for even her assistant, Youmu Konpaku, to know what she's thinking, and it isn't made any easier on her with how Yuyuko likes to tease her and make her job a little more harder than it needs to be. She acts disappointed when the young half ghost/human can't follow or understand what she's saying and chides her, but none of that is the fault of Youmu. When Yuyuko speaks she often lacks a context to her words, not referring to what it could be she's on about and leaving the other person with no idea what it is she's referring to. We see enough samples of this throughout the games she's been present in, to her requiring Youmu to fight her if she wants to go out to investigate any happening, to her admitting defeat to Aya Shameimaru in Scarlet Weather Rhapsody after winning a danmaku battle against her.
Yuyuko is, for sure, not a straightforward ghost. She takes things in her own stride, not explaining herself to others and just expecting them to follow her. We see this in Imperishable Night where her servant, Youmu, is quick to hurry to find the source of the anomaly of the moon, whereas Yuyuko saw no need to rush and took her time in playing around. She allows them to get lost, paying little to no attention to where they're going or who they encounter. We never hardly see her panic, and even a time when she does worry (coming face to face with an immortal, someone who cannot die), she soon enough seems to overcome it.
But as dumb as she might act, as childlike she may be, Yuyuko holds a lot of intelligence and knowledge. Living a long life in Gensokyo means that there is much that she knows and understands. When accidents happen, such as the changes in weather in Scarlet Weather Rhapsody and and the flowers springing in Phantasmagoria of Flower View, she already has her mind about what is going on, even though it takes some of the humans and youkai a while to figure it out.
Yuyuko isn't someone who would go and solve a situation just because it's there for her to solve. She doesn't come out for Phantasmagoria of Flower View, nor does she decide to go and investigate the strange happening with the divine spirits in Ten Desires. She's a fun-loving ghost, getting involved with any happenings that she wishes to, even encouraging one troublemaker to continue on with what she was doing as she liked it.
Still, there is a reason for her considered dumbness. She's a forgetful spirit even though she may have experienced a lot, admitting to forgetting what she had for breakfast the other day in one story. In this same story, we see her seem to space out at a lengthy explanation given to her about the subject of the story, the reason of why spirits and flowers seem to fill Gensokyo every sixty years. Her mind instead wanders over to foods, which she mentions now and then into the conversation. Yuyuko does have an appetite to her, you see.
So, overall, what kind of ghost is Yuyuko? She's someone who can have a lot of knowledge in particular things, but she's not the one to go to for a straight answer. She's a lover for traditional ways, celebrating festivals (Japanese ones) like moon viewing and snow viewing. Fun, cheerful, she'll have a battle of danmaku with anyone, and gets involved in with things whether or not another might want her to.
Whether she is truly a calculating sort of lady is nothing something that would be found out so simply, but one can be safe in knowing that she would never cause harm to the point of death so lightly, an ability that she has without a chance for anyone to resist.
Strengths: Yuyuko's main strength - or to say, her main ability - is her power to cause death without any resistance. This means that no matter what, Yuyuko is able to kill anyone that she pleases and they can't do a thing about it to stop her. Just like she, she can cause death, and it's this power that has made her a fearful ghost to all.
Thankfully, she's not someone who uses the power for no reason, so one doesn't really have to worry unless its their time. Another power is her ability to control souls or the such. She can make them move and do as she wishes. These abilities are written here.
Mentally and emotionally, Yuyuko is a calm individual. She does not panic, and while at times she might seem to be not taking things seriously, Yuyuko has a goal and will reach it. she might be confusing at times, but it is possible to understand her and she knows how to be as straight-forward as to say 'Youmu, slash her'. We see her become less like she's messing around in Imperishable Night, see when they finally get to the mansion in the Bamboo Forest.
To further go on about her being able to keep her cool, the one time she does act worried and scared is in, again, Imperishable Night, when meeting an immortal. Not too long into it though, she decides that she'd actually rather like to try her out, and that scared act is pretty much forgotten.
Despite her ways to go about things in a more complicated manner than necessary, Yuyuko is able to observe and understand situations. The weathers in Scarlet Weather Rhapsody,
Weaknesses: And as Yuyuko has a lot of strengths to her, she has a lot of bumbles to them, too. It doesn't help that she's not so serious, but her not serious way of life does make her forgetful. A lot of knowledge about stuff in Gensokyo, sure, but she's not going to be picking it out of her head just like that.
She doesn't focus herself, being just as scattered as she sounds, meaning that her thoughts aren't always concentrated. Yuyuko is described as never taking seriously any situations at hand, even when she involves herself in those situations like in Imperishable Night. Her mental state could be said to not always be there, her ghostly heart not capable of being fully into something than compared to how humans (or anyone not Yuyuko) can be.
Really, the fact that she does things half-heartedly could be her weakness. There will also be a difference with Luceti and Gensokyo, that being that she doesn't know Luceti as well as she does Gensokyo.
Her odd behaviour also will make her hard to work with with some as she won't always be direct about what she means or plans to do. It's because of things/personalities too straight-forward bore her, and she much prefers to do things in her own simple (complicated if you don't understand her) way. Yuyuko will also not co-operate if she doesn't want to and sees no reason to, like she refused to with Patchouli.
Yuyuko's power to kill someone will be decreased by having her allow to attempt to rip out someone's soul. This means that she could put the person into an agonising position if she wants to, but won't be able to actually kill them off like she could back home. To really go at it though, to put whoever in a really painful position, Yuyuko would need to focus all her strength on it. It will leave her feeling exhausted for a while afterwards.
So meaning, the longer she goes on, the longer it'll take the breath out of Yuyuko, and she won't be able to do it again straight away (unless pushing herself to).
Also, apparently, the undead are weak against fire. :(

First Person: Oh no, could it really be my time? What a horrible thing to do to one as young and graceful - and to leave me in such drab clothing, too. Is this the treatment of all poor souls that are kidnapped to this dull sight?
To whomever it was that brought me here, won't you reconsider? There was so much more I wished to do.... for example, to have Youmu bring me fresh tea and snacks and to enjoy the garden. It was sure to be much more pleasant than when I did it in the morning and I wouldn't like to miss it.
... My my, didn't it work? But I really hope someone will hear my pleas and help me. I'm in such a mess, and I could do with an invitation to somewhere with tea...
And snacks, too, perhaps?
Third Person: A village of people, a forest surrounding them. Yuyuko could see as she wandered the place, noting all the different sorts of people about her, that something was rather peculiar about the place. Was that perhaps because of how little she visited the Human Village? There was really no need for her to. If they wanted anything there, Youmu would know to go and to obtain it. Though, what exactly would they need from a place like this for a place like that...?
Her 'feet' led her around as Yuyuko's mind continued onto the topic of her gardener, her 'feet' leading her through the village as it pleased. Right now, would she find Youmu in a place such as this? But the young girl should know better than that. After all, ghosts such as she and as busy as she should be in the netherworld, not outside playing.
When she saw her, she would have to tell her off for that.
But for now, Yuyuko had yet to see the younger girl. She hadn't spotted a white-haired one as she drifted up along the river, following the direction that the water headed towards, nor in any of her other wandering. Although... it was a little of a lie to say that she hadn't spotted a white-haired person - there was certainly one or two of them who walked around. Yes, very much with plenty of white hair; it was a good thing Yuyuko hadn't said anything at all.
Not that she would really know or not either way. She had paid little attention to her own hair, let alone the hairs of others. No, her thoughts had been elsewhere. Where had they been...? Floating along like a butterfly, she had almost forgotten...
Yes, that was it - the wings on her back. It was hard to keep them on her mind when they were on her back, but she was definitely sure of them not being there yesterday or the day before. Or the year before. Yuyuko was certain she would have known about two wings that were now attached to her, such a strong part of her...
Well, well. She would have to see where such wings would take her, wouldn't she? After all, wings were made to fly.
